Ladies and gentleman I give you the dumbest thing in cycling history. Why on Earth would you pay $630 on pedals?

**Why on Earth would you pay $630 on pedals? **
A small price to pay to save 35 seconds in an Ironman distance event.
Yeah cause God forbid you have to spend an extra 35 seconds out there.
If I wasn’t house poor I’d buy crap like this.
but I still wouldn’t train on zipps
Truth be told I would too.
Its utterly stupid, but still very fun, to weight weenie a bike.
what can we do?
People spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on cars built for speed in a country where the maximum speed limit is 70mph. Which is dumber?
Ok…I"ll see your $630 pedals…and raise you this…http://fairwheelbikes.com/axlightness-orion-brakeset-p-6.html

Definitely paying 630 for the pedals. You can always find someplace to drive fast which is fun. I doubt any human on the planet could REALLY tell any difference, other than on a scale, between these and speedplay’s next heaviest pair…hell even their heaviest pair.

Equally as dumb.
Hmmm…looks EXACTLY like the speedplays I got for $115…but probably weighs about 0.5 grams more…
like they say, there’s one born every minute!
Well, they might be a good savings of rotational weight for a rider with unusually heavy feet . . .
I like the guys who are worried about a few ounces on the bike but have a 20lbs gut.

CRAP!!! I was about to pull the trigger on those brakes but they’re out of stock…

How about $1179 for a bike lighting system
.
ooooooooo free shipping on those brakes!!
I bet that several STers already own a set!
The pedals don’t really irk me, but many things in cycling have an upper end that is in the ludicrous range now. I’m going to do some MTB racing for the first time in several years this season, and there will be guys with the 1200 gram wheelsets…I’m giving up well over a pound in rotating weight, and it is a minor bummer.
rotating weight is an advantage (sometimes)
don’t worry!
…and I’ll see your ridiculously overpriced breaks…and raise you some insanely overpriced cranks: http://fairwheelbikes.com/powerarms-sl-crankset-p-1085.html
