Hello All,
http://www.speedplay.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.x
I have used Speedplay X1 pedals for many years and like them but … I wear out wire in the shoe cleat ( lube it regularly ).
My question - does the Zero cleat wear longer?
The Zero is a bit heavier but if it lasted longer when I need new pedals I might switch.
Cheers,
Neal

Longer than what?
I have not taken care of my Speedplay cleats at all and I am on year 5 with them on two different pairs of shoes.
From all I’ve read, wear of the springs in SP cleats is pretty individual. Some people rock their feet more and some shoes mount them slightly differently. Mine wear, but only to a point then it stops or slows. Ive never replaced a spring because it broke.
Doesn’t help with the X1 vs zero question, I can’t use zeros.

Hello Joe and All,
If you are using the X1 check the spring in the shoe cleat for wear.
It is plainly visible if you have wear … a very small area get worn off by friction.
If it breaks you will not be a happy camper.
Mine does not wear fast … but is does wear … (and need replacing periodically)… mostly on right foot … my usual dismount foot.
Good maintenance is a virtue.
Cheers,
Neal
For some reason everyone is missing your question.
Yes, the Zero cleats wear better and last longer than the X-1. By quite a bit in my experience.

Hello Automaticjack and All,
Thanks
That is what I was curious about.
Any other thoughts pro or con between the two?
Cheers,
Neal
