I have a used set of Speedplay X-2s with 2 sets of cleats. One set of cleats has a fair amount of wear and the other set a little over a season of use. The pedals have about 4 years worth of riding on them. I have maintained them well, always kept them greased and had them rebuilt last year. There is a little bit of wear on the pedal body so that crisp new pedal feeling isn’t there. There is a little bit of play, but the pedals are certainly rideable.
Would I put them on my dream bike? No. Are the fine for a commuter or a second bike or someone needing a set of pedals, definitely.
