Speedplay Pedal Maintenance?

I have a set of speedplay Zeros and noticed that one of the pedals does nto spin as freely as the other one… any hints on maintenance for these things?

unscrew the end-cap

insert grease gun

pull trigger

screw back on end-cap
.

If you go to speedplay.con, you can download a pdf file, but basically you take out the plug on the end of the peddle and inject good quality grease into the hole - when you see clear grease coming out of the other end of the peddle then stop. Replace plug and away you go.

If you don’t have a grease gun, a syringe (without needle of course) works great. Just cut off tip to fit to match size of grease port. Keep injecting it until you see clean grease come out the other side. Don’t worry, even a doctor can do this!

Ahh I was trying to figure out a way to do this without plopping down for some new equipment…

Something like this works best, but it does require a $21 investment.

dry chain lube (that finish line teflon stuff?). every ride, droplet on the contact pts in the cleat. one on top, one on bottom (looks like a little nub). move to other shoe.
