Im doing a HIM in the middle of september and still need to purchase some form of extra hydration. As of now i have 2 bottles on my bike frame but am looking at replacing the bottle on the downtube with a speedfil. Im wondering if there is some unwritten rule about a speedfil on a roadbike without tri bars. Would you guys recommend this or should i invest in a rear seat holder?
hell i think a speedfil makes MORE sense on a road bike
its pretty convenient for that purpose and who cares about having a huge thing and tubes on your frame when you aren’t racing.

ya there are 2 aid stations on the bike. This is my first HIM (muskoka 70.3) and im worried i’ll miss grabbing a bottle through one of the aid stations. Im having the nightmare of missing a bottle and being stuck for the next 30km with little to no water. Rather than worry about what the heck the bottle will look like (will they fit my bottle holders? what type of lids?..) i figured a speedfil would be easiest as i can just fill it and ditch the bottle rather than carry it.
