Do you mean stuff like Profile Designs Aerodrink and the Torhans units? I used both on my Cervelo, and I ended up favoring the X-labs torpedo system. Fortunately, that mounts perfectly to my new 2014 Speed Concept on the monobar mount. The only set back is the money for the mount since you don’t use the cage that comes with it. It’s around $75 for the mount. That said, I believe you could mount it using the X-lab included risers if you were so inclined.
Here’s a pic of mine. You can see the torpedo mount over the monobar.
Is that the X-Lab computer mount on the front of the Torpedo setup? This is the exact setup I was looking at and wondered how it fit. I’ll probably just sell my Trek cage and keep the mount or keep the for when I feel like carrying a normal bottle.

It is the computer mount. One thing of note is that directly under the computer mount, you can see foam I glued there. The platform would flex enough over bumps that the bolt would smash into the monobar. I had a pretty good pit dug out of it until I noticed. That’s my only complaint, and the fix is easy. I’m happy with the setup overall.
I would probably try to use at least one of the existing holes (for the rail mount) and ziptie the other end of the cage. I’d run a long waterbottle cage bolt (say, M5x25mm or so) through the cage and a spacer of some sort (like a few stacked washers, or a large nut) and that gives you one hard point. The other end I’d ziptie, probably with a couple ties - one in each direction to the left & right - either off of the cage itself or through the other bolt hole in the cage, depending on your cage design.
I think because of poor aerodynamics, it getting in the way of an aero helmet, it getting in the way of back pocket access, and it tugging uncomfortably on the shoulders for half and full IM efforts. Just speculating though.

Thats a good point.
For that kind of distance. Phew.
50+ miles and when its empty its probably really annoying.
I am currently using the bottle cage that comes with the mount and have no plan on switching it out. Most cages grab the sides while the Trek cage grabs the bottom/top which makes it super easy to grab the bottom of the bottle allowing you to squeeze and drink without having to do the awkward hand shuffle from top of bottle to bottom of bottle required by typical BTA setups. The cage is also fairly far from stiff (aka easy to pull a bottle out and put it back in), but the design has yet to launch a bottle over some big bumps likely due to the top/bottom hold.
