Speed or Endurance

Hello all!

Like some of you, I’m doing Duathlon Nationals in Richmond, VA.
Unlike most of you, I’m in a pickle of what race I should do. I’m 17 (18 in USAT ruling), so I’m wondering whether or not I should do the Junior race (5k, 20k, 2.5k) or the Age Group race (10k, 40k, 5k) I’m not sure if I can even do the Age Group race because I’ve never done the length of distance before, but I certainly want to try. Also I’m pretty good at short distance (18 min 5k, 30min bike, 9 minute 2.5k). Meh… just meh.
What are you all’s thoughts upon this?

I would choose the race distance that you know you can do competitively. Don’t do the longer race until those distances are short in comparison to your training distances.

speed kills

do the short one.

I like the “swim like a butterfly” sig line!

Its what your prepared for. I am all alot about the endurance since I am an xc runner and long distance swimmer.

do the one that seems coolest
don’t ever be afraid to try what interests you
