Speed Concept with Quarq FSA Team Issue 130BCD

Does anyone know if a 130BCD Quarq FSA Team Issue crankset will work with the new Trek Speed Concept? A friend wants to order one this week, but not taking the Quarq would be a deal breaker.

Thanks,
Ken

Bump for answer.

Hey,

His current crank won’t work with the SC. It has a BB90 bottom bracket. You’d have to use a BB90 to 68mm adaptor.

Thanks buddy.

Should work…

A Quarq should work with BB90, but you need to purchase the right bearings for your crankset (FSA or Shimano). The cadence magnet ring will not work though. You will need to use the epoxy/magnet setup. BB90 is not related to BB30, the 90 refers to the width of the shell when the bearings are pressed into the frame and all standard two-piece external BB cranks are compatible.

However, the Quarq is available in BB30 (for other frame types), or you can retrofit your existing crankset @ Quarq.

Make sure you get the right adapter for FSA. They have several different sizes of BB spindles. The link above is for the alloy cranks (which have an identical BB dimension to Shimano). FSA carbon cranks use different BB than their alloy cranks. And not all of their carbon cranks are the same either.

Just double check before you buy.
