New info on the next Bond film released this morning.

At least they are sticking with the director of Skyfall instead of the hack who turned Quantum of Solace into a rendition of the Bourne series’ crappy action scenes.

excellent! I thought I read that Skyfall was the last with Craig- I am very happy that was inaccurate as he is one of the best Bonds, definitely better than the last several.

He originally signed on to do 5 movies. This will be his 4th. IMDB has him listed as 007 for “Bond 25” as well. So, there’s hope.

I always thought it a bit weird they used Charles Gray as the good guy Henderson in You Only Live Twice and then as Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever.

I think it’s a little bit of both but Craig is excellent as Bond. He gets my wife interested enough to watch Casino Royale with me anytime it comes on, so there is something there for everyone.

Brosnan wasn’t terrible. I think he was just Bond at the wrong time. If he’d taken over from Moore, instead of Dalton, he’d have been fine. I’d blame the quality of those movies on other things than Brosnan.

IIRC- Brosnan wasn’t fully comfortable in the role. He didn’t like the cheesy-ness of the character names and one-liner type puns and never felt that the Bond character challenged himself deeply as an actor. He was happy to get out of the role.

This. Brosnan looked the part. He is a decent actor. (Check out The Matador some time.) The Bond series should have gone gritty earlier than Craig. Instead it ended up with crap like Die Another Day. It was corporate movie making by the numbers with BMW product placement as the primary goal.
Casino Royale is the best Bond film ever in my opinion. Quantum of Solace is one of the worst and I thought Skyfall was unremarkable. Some of the things I have heard about this new film make me nervous.

I liked Goldeneye but the other three movies ranged from meh to completely unwatchable (Die Another Day).
If you like the gritty Bond character as much as I do you should be nervous. It sounds like they are softening him up again.

Agreed. David Niven, Woody Allen and Peter Sellers were great in that.

Zero, zilch, nada, none. As an overall actor Dalton was fine but he wasn’t cut out for Bond.
I prefer the Connery (except Never Say Never) and Moore movies. Connery because he was epitome of suave and Moore because they were all released when I was a kid so they hold fond memories, plus Moore was cheesy as hell. Craig has slowly dragged me back into fandom, especially Skyfall. now I’m geeked up for SPECTRE. Oh please let there be an evil Asian lead with a silver suit, just don’t call him Dr. No
Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are the Bonds I like the best… They are the only ones that pull off being both suave and tough.
