Spectator photos from IMLP

In case you have never seen an Ironman race in person, this is what it feels like. Anyone see themselves in the ‘Swim Start’ photo??

Wow, i was no more than 15 feet to your left when you took those swim pics. I was sitting on the curb right behind a few bushes/trees. Sweet pics!

Hey Pezdoctor,

These are some very, very nice photos. I love the photo of the finish at night. The sort of blurry quality to it depicts how the finish feels to a tired competitor. It is the best image I have seen of the finish from a competitors perspective. For someone who wants to know how the finish feels for a racer out there for 15:33, this is it.

Very well done.

Thanks. I wish I could say I planned to blur the shot that way…but really my hand just slipped…

I got so wrapped up in the race at times that I often missed a great photo op. It was great being at the finish in the last few hours, even after a LONG day.

Brings back alot of memories of that magical place. Was there in 2002 and finished without having to wear a glow stick. Man was I happy.

Great pics

Thanks for the great pictures. I can see me in the swim start one. Only 20 more minutes and that would have been me crossing the finish line at night…

thanks for posting. they look great!

Thanks for posting - these are great. In the swim photo, I’m the guy in the purple cap getting kicked in the face.
