Looking at buying a pair of these. Anybody know how the sizing compares between Specialized and Pearl Izumi? With regard to the sizing, should you aim for a thumbs width in front of the biggest toe or is it okay to go with a snugger fit?
I went for the “snugger” fit. The sizing chart on the specialized website was sufficient for me.
Go for a snugger fit - they fit the same as Specialized road shoes. Lotsa’ love on ST for these

Can’t compare to Pearl Izumi, but I wear an 11 to 11.5 running shoe and had to go with a 12 on the Trivent and they still felt a little tight (hoping they break in like my old Shimano shoes".
Dude tri vents ROCK!!! I would say they are the same as your running shoe size. I HAVE TWO pairs of them!

I think they run small.
I have the Pearl Tri-Flys in 43 and Spec. BG Comp roads in 43. The specialized have more room in the toe box and are slightly longer-more room. I actually like the tighter fit on the PIs as I ride barefoot in races, but train with socks in the Spc.
the trivents fit me true to size between sidi’s and the usual specialized BG shoes

Does anyone have a size comparison as to how the Trivents compare to Shimano shoes? I wear a 45.5 in Shimanos and need to know it that translates to the Trivent.
Try the Bontrager Hilo, what an awesome shoe. I have tried spec. and sidis finally bought the Hilos and it is perfect. Cool and comfortable and good looking
