I’d appreciate anyone with a Transition who is able to run a Wheelbuilder full disc cover on your rear wheel to let me know what rear wheel you are using.
Wheelbuilder says their disc covers don’t fit on Transitions, but I’ve seen their disc covers on Transitions at races, but have not had the chance to speak with the bike owners.
I have a Transition and use a wheelbuilder wheel cover on a Zipp 404 powertap, with no issues. I just needed to adjust the horizontal drop outs so the wheel moved back. I also tape the inside of the cover to minimize bulges.
Please explain how you attached the wheel cover and applied the two sided tape. You seem to be one of the few who makes a wheel cover work on a Transition. Thanks in advance.
Tape the non-drive side cover by pressing the cover against the spokes and taping from the inside of the spokes. There are pictures on the forum somewhere, a search and a little browsing should produce them. The drive side cover should not rub. Another trick is to sand or file around the opening for the hub on the NDS. I run a 30 rear, so there is plenty of room for rubbing but with the tape and a little cut out around the hub, it works just fine.
