Is that a non-BB30 crank/BB? http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2009/tech/probikes/index.php?id=/photos/2009/tech/probikes/fabian_cancellara_specialized_transition09/26---oversized-BB
Interesting about the “extra set back team seat post model”. I’d assume this to meet the 5mm rule.
“In Cancellara’s case, the seatpost head is substantially offset in order to meet UCI guidelines for setback”
I should have read a bit further.
We will see if He is on a rebadged bike later;)
.
Why would he be?
Thx for the link. I like how they ‘shrink wrapped’ the cables to assist with the routing over the stem. I think it really helps clean up the look even more, and for me I really like it when the cables look ‘clean’ - I would love to see more of this ‘wrapping’ done .
I have never seen this post before it looks more set back then the traditional set back transition post

And look at this what is this all 3 cables together

.
You aren’t going to make a photoshopped picture showing us where all the problem points on his bike are?
Fail.
Chris
It is, if you go to the specialized website they now show 3 possible seat posts.
Oh man, it’s pictured with the chain in the small ring and the big cog . . .
You can get a sleeve installed to run your normal size BB/cranks. I did to use my srm, seemed less expensive then buying a new srm from truckweaz (sorry man)
shrink wrapped? looks like duct tape
zipp 900 baby!
What kinda freaks me out is how close the stays are to the rear wheel right up until it HAS to flare out. Might just be me but I see a lot of chainsuck potential there. I’m sure they know what they’re building though.

It’s not a 5 mm rule but a 5 cm rule - or 50 mm if you like.
Part I: General organisation of cycling as a sport
(version on 13.01.09)
1.3.013 The peak of the saddle shall be a minimum of 5 cm to the rear of a vertical plane passing through the bottom bracket spindle (1). This restriction shall not be applied to the bicycle ridden by a rider in a track sprint event, keirin, 500 metres or 1 kilometre time trials; however, in no circumstances shall the peak of the saddle extend in front of a vertical line passing through the bottom bracket spindle.
(1) The distances mentioned in footnote (1) to articles 1.3.013 and 1.3.016 above may be reduced
where that is necessary for morphological reasons. By morphological reasons should be understood everything to do with the size and limb length of the rider.
Any rider who, for these reasons, considers that he needs to use a bicycle of lesser dimensions than those given shall inform the commissaires’ panel to that effect when presenting his licence. In that case, the panel may conduct the following test. Using a plumb-line, they shall check to see whether, when pedalling, the point of the rider’s knee when at its foremost position passes beyond a vertical line passing through the pedal spindle (see diagram «Measurements (2)»).
“OK, I’ll admit I screwed up the facts”
At least you admit it right away ![]()
Sorry, that was my typo.
zipp 900 baby!
Apparently a Sub 9 won’t fit. ![]()

It’s called heat-shrink tubing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat-shrink_tubing
You can buy it at any electronic components store.
Black as used on Cancellara’s bike is the standard color but you can get it in all kinds of colors, even transparent.
Many types has a 2:1 shrink ratio but you can also get types that has a 3:1 or 4:1 shrink ratio.
