Spotted on the Australian Specialized site. Seem Launch is imminent and its still very expensive although its $8k AUD less than the s-works model

Has there ever been any independent wind tunnel data comparing it to other brands? You would hope all that weirdness made it at least a decent bit faster, but maybe peak aero has really been achieved.

You would think now that between bike frames the aerodynamic differences are very marginal.
What I can’t get my head around is the cost of the mid tier bikes being what they are. Already too many people whinging triathlon is too expensive
Hopefully the price comes down but I have what is now the old shiv and I paid $3000 new. I wouldn’t even be able to comprehend spending anything more than that right now.
The problem is the shiv is electric/hydro only so it wont come down much in price. There is an ultegra build in the works. They had it posted on the price list when they released the S works
Specialized US site has the bikes posted now too. Frameset for $6k, 8,500 for expert, and a few different color options for S-works
Excluding the groupset everything on the bike is in-house so I would think Specialised has a huge amount of room to play around with the price. The carbon lay-up on the S-works model will be complicated and they could drastically reduce the price of the frame, fork, seat post and bars by using a simpler layup in the same moulds. You see this across the other bike lines and it is just a matter of whether or not Specialised wants to produce a budget friendly option.
Over c$10k up here for the expert.
I think they’ll eventually release a model with a more conventional front end at much lower price points. I don’t see any reason it has to be electronic only, looking at the frame design.

Gotta love the extra $5k for electronic groupsets, hydro brakes, and other “optimizations” that do absolutely nothing to make you faster. At this point, it’s just a dick measuring contest in transition for who has the coolest bike
Yes and no, frame price can go down but building the bike with di2/etap and hydro bring the cost much higher
