Hi,
Anyone know if there is a significant aero difference between the original McLaren helmet and the presently available TT04? I think I remember that the TT04 was made to address certification issues in the US, but I could not find info regarding a difference between the two in aerodynamics. THanks.

I believe Jordan found a very small difference between the two, like a watt or something (There are tiny differences to thickness in places I believe). But, for most of us it does not matter, since to race the majority of US races we need a helmet that meet the US standards. So we only have one choice. I believe the one sold and certified in Europe is identical to the McLaren.
They are fairly similar designs so how the helmet fits/integrates on the rider is almost certainly more important. The TT04 was designed to replace the Other helmet, so it has more options (shield) and I would be surprised if it were not at least as good or a little better.
I am still holding out for the new Giro. That is the only helmet with some really new design features that are likely to make it significantly faster than anything else currently available.
