I’m amazed at what the BMXers do on their bikes. I have always loved skateboarding, but only recently started paying attention to the BMXers. What kind of bikes do they ride? (I know they’re BMX, but what are the top companies?) Frame materials? Weight? Tires/wheels?
Hoffman Bikes, Haro, Mongoose all make good bikes for freestyle BMX. Bikes are steel and the weight is heavy. Think built like a tank.

I guess they have a pretty big dilemma: finding the right combination of weight plus strength. I would think they would want the lightest possible frame but also the strongest.
Freestyle bike are usually Cromoly steel and built like a tank. 48 spokes are the norm, as are steel forks, bars, and cranks. They use U brakes normally. They don’t care about weight, just that it’s not going to break in 1/2 on them. They are very similiar to what most kids ride actually.
The racer bikes are a world different.
