I got my first pair of tubulars and I had my bike shop mount them for me. I forgot to ask about my spare tubular. Do I put the glue right on it, let it dry and then fold it so I can put it on my seat post?
I would strech it by putting it on a rim for a few days. A clincher rim will work fine for this. Put one thin layer of glue on it. let it dry then fold it up. Here is how I do mine.

Very slick, do you need the thin layer or i understood the residule glue was enough?

Great picture, thank you!
So you basically fold in in half and then half again, glue to glue?
I think that residual glue is fine but the op made it sound like he had a new tire.
I fold it in half starting around the valve if that makes sense and then just keep folding depending on how small you are trying to make it. It is easier to make it small if you use a small allan key to hold the valve open while doing it so you can get as much air out as possible. I then put a couple of pieces of electrical tape around the tire itself so that I do not have to hold it tight while using the straps. Good luck.
awesome tips,THANKS!
