My wife and I are going to Spain in June for 2 weeks. Four or five days each in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. We will have time for day trips outside of these cities. We’re finalizing what we are doing and looking for some off the beaten path ideas or a very good restaurant recommendation. We are doing some of the typical tourist items but I don’t like the typical tourist areas and want to see what the locals actually do on a day to day basis.
Go to Tarragona, it is about an hour south of Barcelona. World Heritage site. Small town not very touristy. See the Roman wall built in 222 BC, the Roman Aqueducts.
