First off I hope that any Southern Cal. ST’ers and their homes and families are safe after the recent flooding and mudslides. It has me thinking though. Given our own current disaster, and any number of others, how come there is no outpouring of support from the UN? I mean where is that idiot who two weeks ago said we (the US) need to pony up more $$ for the tsunami victims? I haven’t heard a damage estimate yet but its gotta be in the millions and wasn’t Florida’s hurrican costs in the hundreds of millions? Did I miss it or does nobody come to our aid in times of crisis?

Do we really need anybody’s aid for this? I’m pretty sure we can cover it.
No doubt we can recover from it or any other disaster. I just thought a “token” gesture or show of concern would be nice.
I don’t know of any US natural disasters that cost 150000 lives.
