South Jersey folks: Help me rent or borrow a bike

Actually, two bikes. One for me, and one for Mrs. Vitus. She’s flying to New Jersey tomorrow, and I’m joining her in about two weeks.

I’ve heard that there’s a bike shop in Philly that rents road bikes, but I can’t find it. Does anyone know which shop, and what kind of bikes they have, and for how much?

Failing that, does anyone have a bike or two we can borrow for a few weeks?

Try Breakaway bikes on 19th and Chestnut. I know they rent bikes but i cant say anything about the types of bikes they rent or the price. They sponsor a local tri team as well as a cycling team and are pretty up to date so you will probably get what you need.

Thanks for the tip, but they say, “Sorry, no road bike rentals.”

I ride a size 54, give or take. I’m not sure about Mrs. Vitus- she’s 5’5" though.

No help. I and the wife only ride real bikes.

Probably for the best. Your bike would cry, being ridden as slow as I ride.

OK, I found one shop in Philly that rents road bikes: Human Zoom.

Forty bucks a day is a little too spendy, though. Looks like I’ll be doing a lot of swimming.
