South Florida Anybody live there?

Looking for a condo around Naples, Ft. Meyers area. Anybody live there? How’s the area for training? I know bike riding in Florida is bad in general but I was wondering if it’s any better on the west coast. The east coast is pretty bad.

Naples is AWESOME for training. It’s pancake flat, but there’s a great group to ride with (Joe Bonness usually leads the good rides) a great pool to swim at-T2 aquatics, and a beach for running.

you can probably get a cheap condo around ft meyers beach, it’s off season right now so you would probably be cut a deal for the normal rate.

Naples with Joe Bonness if he is recovered…still a great ride. I lived in Ft. Myers in the early 90’s and Naples was the place I chose over Ft. Myers for most riding. Riding out by the beach in Ft. Myers is akin to playing Frogger with your life…insane. Is this vacation or living? I actually chose to ride the paved trail on Sanibel Island out to Captiva…about 7 miles each way from the stop sign at the gas station. Nice thing is that about half way through is the Sanibel Elementary school with a 25 yard pool that is never used. Did many an Aqua Bike day on that route. If you are feeling like you want to be gluttonous you can stop on the Captiva end at The Lazy Flamingo for a basket of wings and a beer…explosive ride home the last 7 miles;)

If I wanted to ride with Joe B I’d need to be in a car…I did Triple T one year with him and he was about 5 miles ahead of me by the bike turnaround on Saturday afternoon. He’s a stud. I’m slow.

Looking to buy something not rent, I aint getting any younger. The time is now, I think.

We will use it as a second home for the next 15 years, I’m 57, then, if I’m still above ground, maybe move there.
