Soundtrack on NBC's coverage of Ironman Hawaii

Ok, this is offtopic, but at least it won’t degenerate into a PowerCranks debate :-). I’m secretly hoping that one of the folks at NBC will read this and respond (I read an interview with someone from NBC at www.insidetri.com wherein they said they read Slowtwitch.) Anyway…

Does anyone know who did the soundtrack for the Ironman coverage on NBC? The music was slightly different in 2002, 2003, and 2004, but it has the same “feel”, so I suspect it is the same artist/band. There are never any lyrics, and the credits for all three years didn’t include the soundtrack info. Google isn’t helping me either. And I couldn’t find anything on the NBC website.

I’m talking about the hard/driving “almost sounds like heavy metal” music played throughout the shows. The music has an awesome rhythm, and I would really love to have it on my mp3 player for extra energy during my longer runs.

I uploaded a sample from the 2002 broadcast (the part where DeBoom is entering the energy lab) at http://www.markrebuck.com/whoisthis.wav

If anyone can tell me who this artist is, I’ll be forever in debt. Thanks in advance!

I ordered the DVD today. Should be listed in the credits. PM me in a week, remind me to look…

I am sure it is all done in-house. Could even be done using Soundtrack on a MAC. Music like that would be really easy using that program. If that is the case maybe that explains why there are no credits.

I have the 2004 DVD… no luck. They show no opening credits, no closing credits, and there are no credits printed on the DVD sleeve. They didn’t even list the producer, the cameramen, etc…

I love that sound bite…the helocopter panning around tim as he runs through the Energy Lab. Just an awesome shot!

Not sure who does that bit, (2003) but the opening music and some during are from a Techno Band called BT. They have a lot of good stuff out there, some of it great for training.

The one they used to use was Jeff Beck- Space for the Papa.

Years ago they used to use quite a bit of music from the Peter Gabriel “Passion” CD. Not sure what they use now.

The “Passion” CD is definately in my top 10.

I can confirm (JB can still rock, even with that stupid shag … “Ours go to eleven”)

Never heard of BT. I’m huge on Crystal Method and Prodigy. Is BT similar? Is anyone?

OH HELL YEAH!!!

That’s exactly it! I can’t possibly thank you enough. I’ve had that tune in my head for over a year now.
