SOUL TRAIN HOST Mr. Don Cornelius

Found dead this morning. Police suspect possible suicide.

RIP…

SOOUUULLLLLLL Train!!!

Sorry to hear. He had a huge impact on American music.

Yes it did.

Used to watch that show in the 1970’s and 80’s when it really was soul music. Just can’t get into American black music nowadays - rap is crap.

Yes rap is crap. How many hip hop tunes from a decade ago do you remember? Compare that to other music. Most importanly how many of those songs do you still hear on the radio today in regular rotation?

The great R&B and soul artists of the past must be rolling over in their graves listening the garbage that is produced today.

The show had a big impact. Don’t know much about Cornelius, but given his place in popular culture, he probably a good candidate for an episode of A&E’s “Biography”.

What is that? Most “music” being produced now is crap no matter who spits it out.
Don Cornelius helped transcend soul music from not only blacks but everyone worldwide, no matter what the color of skin which is why a lot of his guests were not black or American. David Bowie and Sheena Easton were on the show and on the shows opening.

Most “music” being produced now is crap no matter who spits it out.

Someone needs to lock Nickelback in the cargo hold of a ship and pay the captain to do figure eight’s in the Arctic until 2063.

“a lot of his guests were not black or American”

Have absolutely now idea what that show is like now, but I was watching Soul Train in the 1970’s when it was at its peak with R&B and soul and can guarantee you that 95% or more of the performers were black.
