Sore after massage?

I had a 60min full body massage last week and later in the evening I started to feel slightly sore, almost an achy feeling. I felt great the next day. Is this common? What causes this? My wife said it was something about working all the stress and kinks out of your muscles.

Completely normal. Getting a massage is similar to doing a workout with those muscles. Especially on muscles you don’t use regularly or deep-tissue massage, it is common to be sore. Always a good idea to drink a little extra water after a massage to help wit the soreness. Being it was gone the next day, not bad. If you find yourself sore for a lot longer (couple of days), you might want to tell your therapist to back off a little next time till your body adjusts.

Agree - very normal, and IMO a sign that you got a good one  Remember that experience - don’t want to get one too close to a race unless you know how it’ll affect you prior. I usually leave at least 2 days before a race to make sure I’m not out of sorts.
