Son of a bitch! Bike theft woes

So, i’m laying in bed at about 4:50am, and my daughter (6 days old, congratulations to us) is laying in her bassinette hiccuping like a crazy fool. I can’t sleep with this hiccuppy racket, so i get up, grab her and starting waltzing about the living room trying to get her to quiet down. Then, i hear a noise, which sounds a lot like our side gate, only the damn hiccuping is so loud that i can’t really figure out what’s happening. Look in our room, Wife is cashed out snoring and drooling, so it’s not her that made a gatey-sound - so i go cruising outside and someone had stolen my goddamn commuter bike!!! While i was standing about 10 feet away!!! That’s the FIRST time i’ve ever forgotten to lock it up in the garage, EVER.

Our bloody dog will be fired as Chief of Security - this no good mutt barks his head off everytime someone goes NEAR our side gate, but what was he doing at 5 am? asleep in our closet, under a pile of dirty underwear.

Went for a drive in the car, but that came up with nothing. they also rifled through my car and stole my Canadian Tire money (Canadian Males will feel my pain), the precious little shits…

Time to move.

And plus, the Cops asked if i would fill out a Victim Impact statement, in case the person was ever caught, they would read out my statement to them in court!

“That was my favourite bike, you prick, and worse yet, you denied me two extra hours of sleep”.

they stole your CT money? hahahahha.
I only thought old ladies used that stuff. hahaha.
kidding seriously though, I don’t spend enough at CT to have a useful amount. 25cent CT bills are probably the highest denomination I’ve gotten recently.

I guess you need to let your dog sleep outside or in the garage…

Last Friday night, some low-life went into my car and stole a digital camera and about 20 CDs in a case…nice neighborhood, it is - actually staying at my Dad’s place - and I just didn’t expect it… cop said it sounds like kids running through the neighborhood looking for MP3 players or sunglasses.

Pissed to lose the 500 or so pics I had stored on the 2GB card…really pissed that I can’t trust anyone anymore…

Ok, what the heck is “Canadian Tire” money?

CanadianTire is probably our closest equivalent to Wal-Mart. Their obvious claim-to-fame was car parts and tools (generic, good tools&parts, always on sale) but lately they’ve expanded into pretty much everything and anything and I think they’re one of Canada’s strongest retailers now.

Sorry to hear about your bike. The CT money though, that deserves the death penalty. For those that don’t know, it is like gold, you buy gas and get money for it, you buy stuff in the store, you get money for it. Then you can spend it to get free gas or stuff!!! I’m saving up for a supercycle Hooligan;)

An update - $500 of commuter bike still missing, but the CT money was found at the bottom of the pile of stuff they’d pulled from the glovebox!

It’s the little victories that count.

Sorry about your bike but I had to laugh at this statement.

PS: congrats on your baby girl.

Thanks, she’s quite a peach. And Deputy Dog (note the demotion) now snarls when anyone goes near her…

And now that you know what it is - there was a time, back in the 70s and 80s, where the smart Canadian would exchange the CT money down in Florida - the banks didin’t know any better and treated it like regular currency.

Ah - the good old days.
