Has anyone looked into these and/or tested a pair out? Seems like “customization” is the next evolution for running shoes.
I have put about 200 miles on a pair. I love them. I am 6’3" 208lbs and am a pronator. I had been ruinning in Asics 2140. The Somnio have made my running easier and more efficient I believe. The knee dive I had before is gone and post long run fatigue issuea are much better. Which USC did you go to. I went to Univ. Of Souther California, but out here in GA the think it means South Carolina.
How did you determine which shoe and options to go with? Did you buy at a local store or online?
I went to the “only” U.S.C. that is recoginized in Division 1 Collegiate Sports…University of Southern California Gamecocks…really?
There are only 2 vendors here in Ga. I went to the Athens location about 1 hour from my homne. It was a sports rehabilitation facility and the owner is an ex collegiate runner. He did all of the work up and based on my height, weight and running style and distance (he had me run on a treadmill) selected the shoe & configuration. If you watch the videos on the Somnio site you can see what he did. The little laser sight is used to figure out the level of wedge to use. My right knee dove inward pretty hard when I tried the one legged squat.
I really like the shoes. SInce they are customized you can immediately test it on the treadmill and if you want to tweak it you can do it right then. After you get it right you can just order the same shoe from them or online. The price is the same. I will go to the local guy because he did the work.
