wow. it’s just like riding single track, but on a course that is 5 times wider. pretty damn technical. I’m impressed those pros could ride down such a steep hill. wow.

It’s either tape to support/align the knee, or warming patches. Both are very common in European cycling.

Exactly. Recall that these aren’t mountain bikes either. I rode my cross bike down two miles of ice and slush covered pavement in the dark last night and I’d say that was just as technical of a riding experience as rocky singletrack on a mountain bike.

I could drive a Hummer down some pretty gnarly doubletrack without a problem, but I don’t think that diminishes doing it on a mountain bike.
