This is not very important, but I was wondering if someone could answer my question…
I have done very little cycle training -quite a bit of running though- over the past 4 months - mainly because we had our first child 4 months ago!
I returned to cycling -spinning to be exact- last week and found it BURNED while my HR was only at 130 and I was in dire pain at HR of 145(I was well rested before the session). I held on and constantly reassured myself that this would pass very soon (in a matter of weeks) and I’d be approaching my old level of fitness soon.
Odd thing is, the next time I was spinning I managed to hold a HR of 160 (168-170 is my 40k TT HR) for the entire hour with little or no pain…
Does anyone have any idea what happened here?
Why was it so hard just 3 days before?
What adaptations (if any) took place?
As I say, not important, I’m just curious!
