A 29-year-old man is facing two criminal charges after authorities say he was spotted by an off-duty police officer masturbating while riding a bicycle in a Macomb County park.
William Benjamin Brown of Warren was arraigned Friday in 41-A District Court in Sterling Heights on two counts of aggravated indecent exposure, according to Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith. The charges are a high misdemeanor, punishable by up to two years imprisonment.
The charges stem from two related incidents Aug. 1 in Dodge Park in Sterling Heights, Smith said in a news release.

Smith said an off-duty police officer was jogging on an asphalt trail when she observed a very tall man in with gray pants riding a mountain bike and fondling his genitals in full view of the public. About a half-hour later, another woman observed Brown on his bike with his penis exposed, Smith said.
“The second victim stated that she tried to go in a different direction to avoid the suspect,” Smith said. “However, she then saw Brown sitting on a bench with his penis out and masturbating in the open.”
Brown remained jailed Monday in lieu of $10,000 surety bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on Sept. 6 for a probable cause hearing.

The problem we have here is this is not the first time this asshole did this. But it apparently it is the first time he’s been arrested. Let him out, he’s going to do it again.

The problem we have here is this is not the first time this asshole did this. But it apparently it is the first time he’s been arrested. Let him out, he’s going to do it again.
Is it really worth paying to lock him up for something like this?
I admire the ability to find the post. I, too, had remembered that training plan, but couldn’t have found it.

Not much else they can do. The stockade solution is so medieval, and running him out with tar and feathers went out with the Revolutionary War. Perhaps in the recent (100 years or so) there was the beat the snot out of him and drop him off in some other town solution, but that would simply make the guy a wealthy bicycle self gratification guy when the lawyers found him.

You can’t jail someone forever because you find their offense particularly icky.
Probation, local equivalent of a sex offender eval and follow the recs for treatment as a condition of probation is more likely to stop the offending behavior.

Yeah all that or maybe try some mental health counseling. You could probably pay for several hours a day of it for what it costs to keep him in prison.
