I know, I know…I posted before and received a lot of good comments but… now a shop told me they usually size down with Cervelo…so…
I am about to order a Soloist Team and I am not 100% sure about size…again.
My height is 6’1" or 182.88cm
Inseam is 35" (book in crotch method) or 88.90cm
Pant inseam is a 33/34.
Arm length - 26.5 or 10.43cm (shoulder to thumb).
I believe a 56 would work with a 110 or 120 stem and a 58 with a 100 or 110 stem.
I like a lot of drop (European style) and a flat stem. I find I have the flexibility to ride this way and enjoy riding in the drops.
Local shop has the 56 but I could not compare it to a 58 since they did not have it in stock.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
I would think a 58. Check with your local shop and if they have any Cervelo road bikes in a 58 on hand check your sizing, geometry is the same on all road bikes.

i’m a hair under 5’10" and ride a 56 soloist. granted i’m pretty leggy but the top tube matters more and i sometimes feel like maybe i could have gone with the 54. love that damn bike though!
Is that your pant inseam when you buy jeans or measurement via a book. Are you in an aggressive position? Could you have gone to a 58? Sounds like a 56 might work for me.
Thanks.
I’m 6’1’’ with a 32.5 inch inseam (book method) and I ride a 58 with a 90mm stem. It fits pretty well, and I have about 10 cm drop from seat to handlebars. I do have the seat up about as far as it will go without switching it to the forward position, however. If you get the 56 you’ll show a lot of seatpost, but it will probably give you more flexibility on stems and where along the rails you put your seat.
It may be too late, but if you don’t trust what the shop is telling you, find a new shop. This is too big a purchase to be having doubts just as you place your order.
I know…I am leaning towards ordering it online through a very reputable dealer. They allow returns on size issues (hassle free) but I just don’t feel like ordering it a returning it etc…
I am leaning towards the 56 and feel I know fit pretty well but Cervelo is a bit different with geometry and wanted to see if any others were faced with a similar dilemma. Thanks.

Do you have a current bike that fits you well which you could measure? If so, I’ll tell you the easy way of figuring this out
No…currently riding a Scott Plasma in a L(56). Fit is perfect but since it is a tri-bike and I am riding steep it is difficult to move the numbers over to a traditional road bike. If I am incorrect in my assumptions I am all ears :). Thanks.

Dang. If you had a road bike, I would’ve told you to just measure the stack and reach and compare to the numbers on the Cervelo geometry chart…oh well.
That said, I’m 5’10 - 5’11 (Dammit! I keep SHRINKING!) and have a 33.5" inseam (crotch to floor). I’ve got a 56 Soloist and run a 110 stem…but, I also run a decent amount of drop (sounds like you do too).
I have a soloist SL and a SOloist team (alloy) for training. i’m 6 feet. as you know, i ride a ML giant which fit perfectly, a 57 top tube. the 56 soloist is a smidgeon smaller. i didnt swap stem but it feels just fine, but definately right on the verge of ‘smallish’. i like them small. i do a lot of racing, and crits and road races and throw the bike around a lot. smaller=lighter weight. not sure how that plays out with a Tri position, but if i could sneak another 1/2cm to 1cm on the top tube, i would.
i’m 6 feet, 32 in inseam, pretty average proportions, nothing exceptional.
to me, at 6’1, i think u have a tough choice. a 58 with a shorter stem will be great, but i always recommend going with the smallest size you can fit properly. but that leaves litle room for goof. ideally , you dont want at 130mm stem ona 56cm. you’d might rather have a 58cm bike with a 110stem for perfect steering.
The giants are just that little bit bigger. the ML fitme perfect.
Thanks. The problem I am facing is that I have a short torso. The 56 I looked at had a 120 and it was pretty close. Appreciate your comments and suggestions.
I remember your first thread, you and I are nearly the exact size. My book-to-crotch inseam is 36.75 inches (93.3 cm) and i’m 6-1 and three quarters tall (long legs & short torso.) I had a 58 soloist team and I now ride a 58 SLC SL, both with a 110 stem. I cant remember the seat tube difference between the 56 & 58 frames but i’d guess you’d see some serious lateral motion on the post when you pedal if you got the 56. I feel like I’m showing too much post on the 58 as it is. here is a pic of the 58cm Team before I sold it for reference… lots of post & zero spacers. I havent taken good pics of the SL yet but its set up exactly the same except I got a neg-17 stem from FSA that puts the stem almost parallel to the ground, so slightly more drop.
