I am planning to buy a Soloist Carbon size 58 with ultegra, as it comes from Cervélo. There is no Cervélo dealer near and I don’t know what is the weight of this bike. Does anyone have this bike in this configuration? What is the weight? Thanks.
Why does this matter? The SLC is a VERY light frame. If you are concerned about weight, get the DA spec one. Or (as I did), build it up right with ZeroG brakes, etc.
My 54cm including computer, bottle cages, pedals, etc. is 15.4 lbs
good lord. if this is the bike you want, get it. i tried out a number of much lighter bikes, and after riding the soloist team went with it. it feels like am uch lighter bike, and from what i have been told its already reasonably light.
THe soloist carbon is not about weight but stiffness to weight ratio. In that aspect, no bike beats it except for the SLC-SL. Our store builds lots of SLC’s and a 58cm with DA, carbon handle bar and flimsy carbon saddle comes in just below 7KG.
I was just curious to know the bike weight. My decision to buy it will not be based on its weight. BTW, I will buy the regular soloist, not the SLC. Thanks.
The SLC is the regular Soloist carbon…as in SoLoist Carbon.
The SLC-SL is the SoLoist Carbon SuperLight
I just forgot that. I was refering to the regular Solist Carbon. Thanks for that.
I don’t know the exact weight of the SLC, but a German cycling magazine made the rounds at the TdF a year or two ago and weighed a 56cm bike from each team as it was raced. IIRC, the SLC was the lightest frame.
Final Kick (www.finalkick.com) just built up a SLC-SL with SRAM Force and Zipp/CSC wheels and it weighed in at 14lbs 6oz. I think that Cervelo advertises the SLC-SL as being about 200g lighter than the SLC.
go to www.competitivecyclist.com …you can use the website to build the exact bike you want (assuming they carry the parts you are looking for) and it will add the weight up as you go along. its pretty slick! i’m sure its not 100% accurate, but based on other reading/websites i have seen its pretty darn close.
