FWIW, Cycling News has some very nice pics of Bobby J’s carbon soloist.

Schwing! Nice bike…
…but good gravy I bet it shifts like crap! I have always been suspect of those O.Symetric rings- and now my suspicions have come true:
“It causes teeth-grinding among the team’s mechanics, though, because it’s tricky to get the front derailleur to work properly when the chainring is in effect moving up and down under the derailleur. In fact, Shimano used to claim that one of the reasons it abandoned Biopace was that indexed shifting of the front derailleur on triple chainrings couldn’t be made to work well with elliptical rings.”
RotorCranks obviously address this problem, but are probably much too heavy for those guys’ climbing bikes. I’ll stick with my good ol’ round-shaped Record rings thankyouverymuch.
just posting about that - ha!
I’m quite content with my bikes and normally don’t suffer bike envy, but this is the exception. I do see a carbon Soloist in my future at some point.
That’s my dream bike too. Although I would like to have colours more in the blue.
those were my thoughts too… that is a very nice bike… then had to slap myself and say… ABG ABG ABG… and then i was free of the temptation… now what ABG road bike to get… that’s the question… plz ignore poster as it is friday and his thoughts are leaking onto his keyboard
Come on, what’s next? A carbon r2.5?
eeeek…
That color is awful.
The bike is sexy.
I’d still like to see compliance data…
