Soloist 105 stock, how much does it weigh?

How much does the soloist 105 weigh? No aerobars

Still curious about the weight of the soloist 105. Also interested in the weight of the stock soloist team.

I probably shouldn’t answer this because I don’t have definitive weight figures (and frankly don’t care much about bike weight), but as someone that has purchased both Soloist 105 and Soloist Team frames in the last two months I would feel pretty safe asserting that the Team model frame is a touch heavier due to the use of more material on the wheelward (new word, don’t look it up) side of the seat tube and a small cross bar between the chain stays, just aft of the bottom of the seat tube and in front of where the rear tire fits.

The top tubes also have slightly different shapes, but I doubt that affects weight.

Again, sorry if my guesses are wrong. I have a built Soloist Team and unbuilt Soloist 105 at home, but I’m not about to strip my Soloist Team to do a comparison weigh-in.

I weighed a size 54cm stock Soloist 105 at La Bicicletta in Vancouver, BC earlier in the year and it 18.7 lbs. That’s a light bike considering the group and wheelset. Besided the LCF (Look Cool Factor) is very high.

Actually the 2004 team frame is a touch lighter since it uses different butting on most tubes than th e2003 Team frame (which is basically the 2004 Soloist 105 frame). And the 11g of the chainstay bridge are not enough to change that. BTW, that chainstay bridge is the coolest piece we make. 11g of complicated 3D formed tube, took the fatigue life of the frame from 1.5 times the DIN standard (which is already much higher than most frames on the market) to 3 times the DIN standard. We made about 20 different versions before we found the shape that had the best results, and this shape only works with the exact chainstay shape and length that we have on that frame, but I found it pretty cool that we could come up with such a small piece that was so intricately made and made such a huge difference. It also has a pretty big effect on the bb stiffness, can"t remember the exact number and can’t look it up since I’m at home.

Now that’s the kind of stuff I find just plain sexy.

Gerard,

Awesome information. Thanks for your reply!

Now I’m going to gaze upon my Soloist Team’s chainstay bridge with awe and admiration every time I pass by her (she lives on a stand in my living room, of course, but that’s apartment living).

Things like this are what make me a dual (pun intended) Cervelo owner. It’s such a cool feeling having hopeless bike geeks behind my bike’s design.
