The pedals that MESA TRY GUY bought were shipped the day he paid. However my mistake I did not get tracking information. Thus I have no idea if the pedals have shown or not. I am more than happy to issue a refund to any person that is not 100% happy with their purchase.
This is getting a little carried away for a $40 set of pedals. Im not out to get anyone, we are all on this fourm to buy and sell things, thats all.

x2. At least I got my money back. I got the distinct feeling that all I did was lend him $250 until after christmas.
I also had a failed transaction with AVSFAN. Sure the classifieds is all about buyer beware and I should have done more research about who I was buying from so sure I have some blame.
I was also lucky I got my money back but not until getting the run around about how his wife sent the wheels Fed -Ex but I never got a tracking number. It wasn’t until I put a claim in to pay pal and it took until the last day of the claim for him to refund my money. His reason for the refund to pay pal was the wheels came back to him damaged. From the shipper who he said was UPS.
My gut says, he as a “pro rider” was hoping to get some zipp wheels in but that fell through so instead of just owning up and telling me he never had the wheels he let me wait it out over Christmas then refunded me before pay pal came down with a decision. If I’m wrong all he has do was send me some pictures of the damaged wheels and all is cool. The system worked in my favor but it never had to go down like that in the first place.
I’ve sold and bought a bunch on the classifieds in the past and just the other day bought and sold some wheels but as always you have to be careful. Though if a pattern of failed transactions involving the same seller is happening I think people should know about it.

I’ve hesitated to do so, but I now feel compelled to comment on this transaction. I originally Pm’d Avsfan that I would take one of the units for $275. He PM’d me back stating that was great, and to send it through paypal as a “gift” or add 3.5% to the transaction. Asking me to send it as a gift raised at least a pink flag in my mind, as that would to my understanding negate the paypal guarantee, but I figured I’ll tack on $9 and be good.
When I went to send the money paypal indicated that I was sending money to an unverified account and the email owner would be notified. This struck me as odd since this individual has been ostensibly selling/trying to sell merchandise via slowtwitch for years. Why in the hell would he have an unverified account? I buy/sell maybe 2 items a year via paypal and my account is verified. I cancelled the transaction. The flag is starting to turn crimson.
So, I PM’d AVSFAN asking for an plausible explanation for all this. I then revisited this thread and saw all the negative feedback regarding some of his prior deals. When I revisited the thread I noticed that he had changed his handle to removed and can’t receive PM’s anymore. Presumably because it is a new screen name.
I then took it upon myself to send an email from my private acct to the email acct I was directed to paypal the money to. Thsi email bounced back as undeliverable leading me to the conclusion that this transaction stinks. I have heard nothing from the seller since his direction to paypal a gift to what appears to be a defunct email address, despite a Pm that I believe he would have recieved prior to changing his screen name. Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, etc. I wish this transaction would have worked out. I really could have used that unit, particularly at that price, but as others have said, caveat emptor
And while I’m at it. Chickenshit move asking someone to send money as a “gift” when it’s not. If your so worried about the paypal fees account for them in your price.
Yeah, but he wasn’t worried about the fees - you can’t dispute a “gift” transaction. He was hoping that YOU wouldn’t want to pay an extra 3.5% so that he would have a guaranteed take on the cash.
I PM’d Jordan about this douche - hopefully it gets resolved.
And if you need a POC, I have his old “valid” email address - the one he tried to steal money from me with

Thanks man. My antenae started twitching as soon asi saw the “gift” bull crap. I’m not a pay pal expert, but hatbstruck me as exactly the kind of thing that would eliminate a pay pal dispute.
I appreciate the offer, bu I don’t need that douche’s real email. He didn’t get any money out of me and aside from the fact that people like that generally annoy me, I’m mostly pissed that now I still need to find another computer. He’s banned and that’s good enough for me.
