For sale is my Roots cross bike. I have converted it to a single speed using a magic gear of 38x15. This is a pretty nice gear for cross racing or gravel road riding where I live (flat to rolling terrain). I would call the size a long 56. I think the geometry is custom. The frame is a tad too big for me and I won’t be around much over the next 12-18 months to justify keeping it. It has a sweet blue anodized paint job, it’s in great shape, and can easily be turned back into a geared bike.

Specs:
Top tube: 585mm c-c
Seat tube: 505mm c-c / 555mm c-t
Stem: 80mm - very short and high rise to compensate for the frame being too long for me.
Head tube: 115mm (140 with headset)

Ellsworth Roots CX frame - Easton Ultralight Aluminum, Wound Up full carbon fork (uncut), Cane Creek levers, Avid Shorty 4 brakes, FSA Gossamer cranks, Salsa stem, 32 spoke wheels (front should be re-spoked, but rear was done recently and hubs are great), Ritchey Speedmax tires w/~25% life left. Also, the rear spacing is 132.5, so road or MTB hubs can be used.

This is a full-on race bike and as such, has no water bottle bosses. With the full carbon Wound Up, it rides as smooth as some suspended mountain bikes I have ridden. I am the second owner, having bought it from Scott Moninger. Also, as I understand, not many of these frames were made. I would guess between 10 - 20, but Paul could probably tell better. You likely will not line up against another one!

18.0 lbs with pedals and a ~2000 gm wheelset. Could easily get in the 16’s with race wheels.

$600 plus actual shipping / or best offer. Pedals NOT included. Pay with USPS Money order or COD please.
