Who’s in for the Solana Beach Triathlon World Championships this Sunday? Fun local race. Nicole and I are both looking forward to it. Pray for big surf! 
Have fun. A strong SE swell from TS Dalila in the water this weekend, but that will sail right past Solana Beach (which faces west), so it should be pretty small there.
World Championships? Very nice, but that race, on the bike is like S.D. Fwy at rush hour. It’s totally crazy. Have fun!
Yeah Steve, I did that race in my first season and remember the bike course being EXTREMELY congested!

Yeah, I remember the guy right behind me accused me of drafting! Pretty weird, but yes I was, just like everyone else. You can’t do anything but draft. That was also the race Russ Jones convinced me to try massive amounts of Mountain Dew before the race. After the swim, my hands were so jittery, I couldn’t buckle my helmet. And quite a bit of the Dew came back up during the ride. Fun times.

That’s why you gotta be in the front… Just kidding, it’s congested in parts but I didn’t find it any worst than many of the other triathlons I do. At least the roads are in good shape, there are few turns, no hills, and the ride is very short. It’s fun b/c the whole crew comes to play.
