So this will be a little boring. No pics or anything special. I had no intentions of even racing till saturday afternoon when I stopped by B&L and they had a few entries left.
Swim. I haven’t been in the pool but 2 or 3 times since my half in may. I’ve been having some issues with my shoulder, I tore my rotator cuff for the second time in the same shoulder. So I’ve been backing off the swim. Anyhow, water was a little cold without my wetsuit, but not too bad. Ocean swims suck for me, I have a really hard time walking in water. If I can’t see my feet, life is rough for me. I don’t even know what my time was, came out of the water about mid pack after falling 4 times getting in and 7 times I think getting out of the surf.
T1. I do not run on concrete with out shoes on, i have a tendency to rip all the skin off my toes if I try. So, it was a long walk up to get my bike.
Bike. Decent bike ride. Lots of drafting, but its a sprint. What are you gonna do? I did clip a women as I passed her. Just as I passed on her left someone was passing her on the right and scared her. No crash, just a scary moment.
T2. Nothing really?
Run. My run sucks. Some of you might remember my other rr’s. I had a spinal cord injury. So running for me is hard at best. Some days I wake up and run fine and feel great, other days, not so much. Took off okay, got a good cramp in my hamstring which was pretty weird for me. Then my stomach went south. Real far south. Had to find a bush to hide behind since there were no porta potties in site.
Overall I had a good time. Even though I got my ass kicked again, it was still fun. I didn’t even look at my time, I think around 1:30 or so?
Oh and ryan, sorry about not finding you to bring you that cup of coffee!
