How does one tell the year model of Softrides? Is it like sexing kittens? (“Yep, ya see them little furry spots right thar? Means it’s a girl,…um, I think…”) Do serial numbers or paint schemes or names nail it to a particular year?

At the very least, I imagine you could contact Softride with the Serial # and they’d be able to give you the pedigree.
I ride a '02RR but never really thought about how to tell different model years apart. Obviously the first RR’s came with aluminum beam, then carbon, and now the FastTT has the monostay in the rear.

In 2002 we phased out model years, in an effort to help our dealers. We made changes as they we ready, not just in time for the season.
Yes serial numbers, paint and decals will give us enoght info to date it…
