I was out of the country last week, who is this woman, besides being a friend of the President? Does she have any credentials? All I can see is that liberals and conservatives both seem to be freaked out by this.
She is a prominent, well-respected, intelligent lawyer from Dallas. She was the first female president of the Texas Bar Association and also was managing partner of one of the largest and most pretigious law firms in Dallas. She has never been married and does not have any kids; she devotes herself full time to her profession. She has never served as a judge, but I think she has the firepower to take on the job of Justice. She’s definitely not the usual nominee, but I think people will have a hard time finding anything of substance to defeat her nomination. Time will tell, though.

Frankly, I don’t see this as the massive accomplishment people are trying to make it. Damning with faint praise, imho.
