How does Colorado rank 31 for natural environment? That alone makes me question things. Colorado has one of the best outdoor natural environments in the US. I just can’t get behind many of the rankings for Colorado. Seems questionable at best.

I don’t know, but if it keeps more people from moving here I’m fine with the ranking.

yeah. we’re ranked 49th out of 50 in the category of “opportunity”. i’d like to know how they score that. i could imagine someone out of college coming to california for the opportunity. hard to imagine graduating and then declaring that south mississippi or kansas is where i’m going to make my mark in the world.

That’s good. Poor New Brunswick, not that I’d want to live in any prairie province either. I’d rank Vancouver Island #1, especially Victoria. As for Ontario, you can have Toronto and anything west. My favorite is Kingston or any of those picturesque eastern towns along the St. Lawrence River.

Yea that’s weird so I looked into their methodology. Basically “natural environment†is scored based on drinking water quality and air pollution. Not mountains and rivers, etc. Maybe the western states took a big hit due to fire smoke? I would’ve thought Montana would be way up there, but lately the air can be lousy in July and August.
