We’re sitting here having opened presents with love of family and listening to John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas”. Aside from family and friends, my biggest present today is the health to be able to do this sport. Just being able to get out of bed, and head out for a run or ride, is just so amazing. Sometimes, in our little world, we forget what a big deal it is actually possible. No war, no land mines to run around, no cancer.
Anyway, thanks dudes and dudettes for an awesome year.
…Christmas is great…I appreciate everything I have…its a time to look back and take stock…right now the boys are going nuts running around the house with presents…its all good…
Absolutely right on Dev, we have so much to be thankful for.
So it’s Christmas morning and I’m surfing ST. It’s funny, now that my twins are older (19) I’m up early like an excited kid but I’ve got to pass the time waiting for them to get up! Maybe I’ll go snoop under the tree.

Me too! My “little boy” nephew is 19 also and getting him (and his dad) up and around takes forever, so I’m drinking coffee and waiting for them to show up. Even Dad is still in bed.
Merry Christmas Dev! My boys have already gone through the presents, I finished a 10 mile run before anyone was up and am now enjoying the peace and quiet in the house as the guys fiddle with their new digital cameras and IPods, while my wife is on the trainer watching a movie she bought for one of the kids.
Peace on earth and good will to all. Wish everyone could embrace those sentiments.
Precisely, Dev. I’m currently at the age when my father was first diagnosed with cancer. I remember what he looked like then, and every time I look in the mirror I am thankful that a friend dragged me out to do my first race in over ten years and somehow got me hooked again.
Merry Christmas to all of you guys and girls who keep this fun.
We watched “Joyeaux Noel” which means Merry Christmas last night with my parents. It is aboue christmas eve during world war 1. Highly recommend the movie if you
want to see what can bring folks trying to kill themselves together in war!!!
exactly. i think of this nearly every time i’m out S/B/R-ing. so many people are unable for various reasons to even consider the things we do on a regular basis. god forbid anything happen to me that keeps me from doing what i love. i love the feeling of being able to do anything and is what keeps me going day in and day out (that and the obsession!) :).
Kurt, christmas is getting better. Tonite, 10 cm of new snow. The present a nordic skier needs. You should come up to Ottawa to get some on snow time. We’ll be skiing again starting tomorrow!
I just got back from a Christmas run with my youngest daughter. She is 11 years old and was excited as can be to get a Mizuno running top, Adidas track suit and Sugoi running hat for Christmas. It is the first time I’ve ever gone out for my Christmas run with one of my children and it was a blast. She looked really coordinated and professional compared to her dad!
Our son was born three years ago today…12:30 PM on the nose. What an awesome Christmas present! The holidays are definitely happy ones in our household…the sound of my son laughing uncontrollably is what it’s all about. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all!
