So sick of this weather

I live in the middle of that big round green blob. Seems to never end this “spring”. In addition, the 10 day forecast shows rain of one form or another for the next nine days.

Ken,

I will be feeling your pain. My sister lives in NJ, and we are supposed to go up for 4 days over the memorial day holiday and with the weather forecasting basically be cold and rainy we are really trying to bag the trip. I NEED A GOOD EXCUSE!

Its been a relatively cool spring in the carolinas but its finally turning the corner, and its supposed to be in the low to mid 80’s when we are going to NJ, AURGHHHHHHHH.

The good part of the trip is that both our families run the Spring Lake 5 Road Race with 9,000 of our closest freinds on Saturday.

Peace,

RF

RAIN SUCKS, RAIN SUCKS, RAIN SUCKS…

I live in Minneapolis and we have had some form or rain something like 19 out of the last 22 days. did I mention that RAIN SUCKS

Actually, it’s hoped to be in the 70s this week and next. Finally. Maybe you think that’s cold, but we’ll take it.

Have fun in Spring Lake.

every friggin weekend for the past 3 have been rain rain rain here. I’m playing hookey tomorrow and not coming in to work. (its sunny finally but gusty 30~50km/h winds) and the forecast for the weekend is rain again.

I feel for you guys in the east coast with the freak spring nor’easter. Take solice in the fact that it is no better here in the midwest. Cold, rain and 20 to 30 mph winds every weekend for the last month. Mother Nature sure is a bitch!

I took Thursday through Monday off with the idea of having a big bike extended weekend…nyuck nyuck…well, perhaps I’ll put a bunch of extra time in at the pool, it can’t hurt…but damn, this spring has been awful one out east, that’s for sure.

About two weeks ago, I started swimming in a lake behind my in-laws house (about 4 miles from where I live, and I can do a 2000yd out-and-back: sweet!). Went there yesterday morning, and just about froze my ass off. The water got colder over the weekend.

Yup, i’m there with ya…did close to 2hr ride Monday in howling wind and rain blowing sideways…oh and in the 50’s…crazy…I’m so sick of this. Oh and this weekend is going to be beautiful…NOT!!

I’ll join in on the weather bashing. Just when I thought I could put away the long sleeve jackets and full fingered gloves it gets colder and wetter. I don’t get angry at the weatherman when the weather is bad, it’s not his fault. BUT, when they say all week, “if you can make it to the weekend you’ll be rewarded”, and then it rains and is nasty out for the fourth weekend in a row, then somebody is due for an a$$ kicking. If they would just say, don’t rely too much on this forecast beyond tomorrow, I wouldn’t have a problem. Where else can you screw up so consistently and still be paid so well. Sign me up.
Sorry for the rant but it’s been a long winter/spring.

Hear ya.

I live in S. Ontario & this is worst spring in a while. May actually have to get a wetsuit this summer.

Here in Boston, I haven’t been outside on my bike yet this year - all trainer, all the time since Feb. (maybe that belonged on the “dirty secrets” thread…) I am going to NYC this weekend and am hoping to go for a short ride in Central Park on Sunday, though. Current forecast shows partly cloudy with a high of 73. Who knows…

Coincidentally, there is a front-page article in today’s Globe stating that this May is the third-coldest (avg. temp 49.7 F) and fourth-darkest (37.4% sunshine) on record.

If anyone reading this is doing the June 11th Hyannis sprint, any guesses as to whether the swim will be cancelled or not? I noticed that they cancelled it in '03 due to cold water temperature.

I too live in Minneapolis and am getting sick of biking in the rain. The worst part is having to clean your bike after your workout when all you want to do is get something to eat and relax.

Bring on the Sun!

i hear ya, it’s so hot in austin it’s getting tough to train effectively…i mean it was 95 on Saturday…there weren’t even any clouds to help cool it off:)
