Good idea? Bad idea?
As long as you jump from the top of the crane, it’s a good idea. If not, then it’s a bad idea.

I’m praying for a windy day. Would save the taxpayers a lot of money.
That crane is about 2 miles from where I work, which is a TV broadcast facility. On our tower a big-ass Hawk (not sure of the latin name) had a…baby hawk. Someone has aimed a camera on it and added it to the in house cable system. Every room in out campus has that channel on 24/7. The baby hawk is starting to learn to fly and everyone is glued to the tv. It will be a sad day when the baby leaves the nest.

I never thought Georgia would be soft on crime. If I was running the state I’d have a lottery with the winner getting to shoot that sucker off the crane. That would be a lesson no one would forget.
Heard about this on the talk radio yesterday a.m. - definitely a bad plan, gone from bad to worse. The DJ talked about a bystander having a sign that read
“Jump, you idiot!”
Well . . . . The ORIGINAL plan was for me to climb up the crane so I could imitate that bumper sticker, you know the one where the kid is peeing on a Chevy or Ford or what have you.
But then my stupid girlfriend told me I was an idiot, so I did the only reasonable thing. Shot her and then got on with my plan.
Some days things wouldn’t go right if you paid them.
Is it the kind of crane that goes up and down?
I guess we are supposed to try and talk him down, but I would just wait until he fell asleep and fell off.

A couple of years ago there was a suicide jumper on the Bay Bridge who tied up Friday evening traffic for 6 hours. Eventually the CHP opened one lane on the bridge to allow people to cross…which they quickly stopped when enraged motorists bagan yelling at the guy…JUMP YOU FKING AHOLE, I HOPE YOU F**KING HIT THE DECK AND DIE.
The CHP actually arrested a few people for encouraging him.
That’s priceless. Arresting individuals who are exercising the first amendment rights. I suppose if he jumped then they could have charged them with accessory to murder. Calfornia; a great place to visit.
You obviously have little comprehension of the first ammendment.
The right to free speech is not an absolute right. There are exceptions to free speech. For example, the First Amendment does not give anyone the right to speak or write in a way that injures another person or his property, that corrupts public morals, that incites criminal activity or that advocates a specific action for overthrowing the government by force.
A well-known example of the limits of free speech is that the First Amendment does not allow someone to yell “FIRE!” in a crowded movie theater. To allow people to do so would create a clear and present danger that people would be hurt in the stampede for the door. The benefit to society for allowing people the ability to yell “FIRE” in a crowded place is outweighed by the danger that people would be hurt by such speech. Consequently, courts have ruled that this is not protected speech.
So I guess yelling “Jump you f**ker” at a suicidal man on a bridge would create a clear and present danger that someone just might get hurt. This crazy law holds true for every state in the union not just California.
Wasn’t the intention of the jumper to jump anyway?
I am seeing a pattern through all of your posts:
Blame anyone else other than the loser who is responsible.
Now I understand even more the manifestations of the victim mentality. Classic!
getting back to the first amendment…do you think it should be changed so we can yell JUMP F**KER at suicidal people?
Just curious.
What was the result of the aforementioned arrests? I doubt they got very far, but you never know in California with the 9th circuit. I’ll maintain again that they were protected under the constitution.
I don’t think charges were ever pressed but that doesn’t mean they weren’t breaking the law.
The first amendment is very clear in this matter. You might not like it, but its clear.
“I don’t think charges were ever pressed…”
Thanks for making my point for me.
Making your point??? huh???
Your point was that the driver was exercising his first amendment right and was doing nothing wrong. I think I proved your point to be dead wrong.

No, no – we must not encourage this guy to jump – We have to talk him down, then spend millions on a trial, then spend millions more of housing him in prison while he waits on death row filing appeal after appeal and then we can execute him.
I am done trying to educate you about the exigencies of life, law, and decency. I have moved onto the Hottie thread.
