So I got a Cervelo

I have, for the last few years, been all about every other bike but Cervelo. There was never a particular reason. Just the fact that I hate being on a bandwagon. I have even gone so far as to blatantly count the Cervelos I passed, just to pass the time, while charging through the people who swim faster than me(PR IM AZ 05). Well, the lack of incoming funds caused the sale of my beloved Ordu a few months ago. SOOOOOO… The opportunity, and by opportunity I mean a price I could not pass up, arose and I am now the proud owner of Cervelo P3C. I will be taking her out on her maiden voyage in the a.m. so I will post thoughts and pics when I am done.

I have been the same way, and done the same thing (I also count Litespeeds), for the same reasons. I recently rode the P2C, and I have to admit Cervelo does make an incredible bike. I went with a Jamis T1, but the Cervelo was nice.

Enjoy!

He must be enjoying it he’s been gone for over 12 hours now!

I’m super stoked on my P2C, I’ve got my first race of the season tomorrow, and I’m excited to see what happens on the bike (much better position).

Me to with the lemming thing
I just put cervelo stickers on my yaqui so it look like one.

I put cervelo stickers on my specialized and specialized stickers on my cervelo

ok that’s not true
.

So I just got in from a 3 hour ride. WOW! I am impressed. I had some issues with the saddle, which is why it is slammed so far forward. I ride pretty steep but I had to ride back in the saddle to be comfortable. I miss my SLR T1 but this one isn’t that bad. The bike rides like a dream. I really wish I would’ve had it on Sunday. I would’ve ridden at least 30 seconds to a minute faster. I am looking forward to riding and racing it this season.

I’ve been awaiting your ride report. Glad you liked it. She’s a beauty.

I was definitely impressed. I looked for something to complain about and if I had one gripe it would be one bottle cage on the frame. BUt seriously, that is just reaching. Even here in Louisiana, the home of terrible roads and ejected water bottles. I am 100% satisfied with it. Still don’t want a P4 though…yet.

Good for you. Congratulations.

Cervelo has reached the point where there is bound to be some skeptics about it all. However, they make great bikes, sold at competitive prices, and more than that, if it’s important to you, it’s a great story - from next to nothing to this, in 10 years!

The thing I like most about my P3C? It means, “No Excuses”. I can’t blame anything on my bike.

I am starting to think I screwed up. You are right. I now can’t blame anything on the bike.

You’ve got the other one in the right place. Nice job.

Wait, this is a good thing? How am I supposed to explain being slow?!

That is a nice looking rig…

OOh. I found the bad thing. Fortunately, it was transferred off of the bike. The brakes that Cervelo specs their top off the line bike with are, in a word, CRAP. I am glad I won’t be using those things. That isn’t good for a bike that was spec’d with Dura Ace everything except those brakes. I still am in absolute love with the bike but I find it hard to believe that Cervelo uses those things.

Thanks man.
