So how important are horizontal dropouts? Cannondale Slice

Looking at a great deal on the 2011 Cannondale Slice but noticed that the dropouts are standard and not horizontal. Could be because they bring the front derailleur cable up behind the BB.
Seems somewhat limiting but does your bike have them, and do you ever adjust them? Also noticed that the chainrings are 52/38, which seems an odd size.

yes my bike has them

yes I adjust them

by itself, not a big deal. there is no single feature of a bike that is a big deal. Probably some seconds are lost since you can’t get the tire really close, but it is less hassle as well.

52/38 is fine gearing as long as you are not approaching the power of fabian cancellara

Speed Concept has standard drop outs. Cervelo uses horizontal. both are fast bikes. I’ve had both and like the standard better. Easier to get rear wheel in and out.
