So Biden say the Dems will keep the senate

Was the top story on CNN earlier today. Now a bit buried.

“I don’t agree with the oddsmakers,” Biden said in an exclusive interview with CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger. “I predict we’re gonna … keep the Senate.”

The polls say that Biden is most likely wrong but he is standing by his party. If Biden is right, then is he a genius? If things go as predicted and the Dems lose big, is he an idiot who ignores facts?

People on both sided of the aisle make similar statements, not just Biden. Should these sort of statements be purely attributed to party loyalty or should they show the actual ability of politicians to assess the information presented to them?

It is a fact that Biden is an idiot. Which he ignores that fact, as well.

True. Biden is probably a poor example to use, but he is the one in the news.

I won’t disagree, but if he was smart he would want the Republicans to win, and then he could show how he partners with them to get a few things passed in the next 2 years improving Obamas legacy and making it look like he would be a good presidential candidate. But would Obama let him lead such an effort for bipartisanship?

That Biden likes to say funny things from time to time.

He’s a leading Democrat, and partly responsible for maintaining the morale of the party. What’s he supposed to say?

Why? Does a football coach tell his team that they will lose before a game with a clearly better team? Of course not.

Anytime someone calls Biden an idiot it makes me wonder what the person calling him an Idiot has done to make him/her so freaking smart. Look at what Biden has done:

Avoided the Vietnam draft AND supported the war.

Went from Republican to Democrat.

Won his first Senate race with virtually no money against an incumbent.

Plagiarized ideas and speeches for an eternity

Chaired the Judiciary committee

Became VP

Potential Presidential Candidate in 2016

You call him an idiot? I call him a genius for surviving this long. A lesser man would have been in jail or booted out of office a long time ago.

A broken clock is right twice a day, somehow Biden figured out a way to to alter that truth.

Your .gif-fu needs some work, grasshopper.

Maybe Biden is in charge of voting machine calibration.

Oops. fixed it.

What’s worse is the American people kept electing him. Without a !%$^$# stupid public this kind of crap could not happen. We
are our own worst enemies.

Who elected him? Certainly not me or the voters in 49 states.

Check his record. He as run for office numerous times before becoming VP so yes, the public in at least one state did elect him,

He also said that democrats are ready to compromise.

Supposedly the Republicans are saying the same thing. If they win the Senate, they want to prove they are the party that can govern. So who knows perhaps some gridlock will end. It will be interesting if Obama lets Joe lead that effort in congress. Joe has tried that in the past. At this point if Joe was able to reach agreement with Republicans, it would look very much like the popular Bill Clinton which would help Joes chances in 2016 if he runs. And it would likely hurt Hillary if Joe is successful. But would Republicans work with him knowing he could use that as evidence of Presidential like leadership which has been lacking the last 6 years.
