Well actually, it’s a bit more complicated than that. I am configuring a road bike with a profile design fast-forward seatpost and T2+DL clip-ons on my 31.8 drop bars. But I want the clip-ons higher without buying a new stem, aerobars or base bar.
So, would this work? Why not?
(moving from the base bar out) 31.8 Drop bar, Syntace 31.8 kit, Syntace lifter kit, Syntace 26.0 kit, T2+DL, buy 45mm bolts to install all this.
I think it would add around 34mm of height. It’s more than I want, but I’d rather be 1/2" too high than 1/2" too low. Bolts would come from Ace or here:
http://www.tastynuts.com/Products/stainless_steal_M6_100 (actually, these bolts would work with Syntace, but I’m not sure if Snytace and Profile use the same M6 bolts, so I need to take another look at my Profile hardware).
Before you ask, I have a herniated L5-L4 and a bulged L4-L3 disc, so a big saddle to aerobar drop is rather painful. Three years ago I had a tri bike with very similar geometry to what the above combination would give me. With the injury this was as aggressive as I could get.
