I’m not sure if the posts are numbered the same for every user, based on who they have blocked or not. If you look at the post where Eric put the new name poll, then go down from there about 11 posts.
@slowguy ok yes the posts may be numbered differently for you.
And my point is exactly in the reply you didn’t include right after. DSW was the first to point out that Eric was providing conflicting information. So out of the few people that have interacted in this thread tonight, myself, DSW, Mop, and, Ike all recognized some sort of inconsistency or confusion.
All I did was ask for clarification from Eric. And truthfully, you came in with some snark about us not reading the thread or not seeing something that was , apparently, not so “quite clear.”
Just give us the respect that we’re all supposed to be providing to clean this place up.
None of us want to have to pay and I think we’d all wish things weren’t changing. But give the mods a break here. You’re making them guilty of something before anything has even happened.
I’d imagine we would not be entitled to a prorated refund if we elect to cancel after we’ve already paid. Also, there were two options provided: paid in full for a discount or pay by month. If you’re worried you won’t be happy then you shouldn’t choose the paid in full. That’s the trade off.
Eric, I’m not arguing for the sake of arguing. I’m simply explaining my positionand standing my ground. I politely asked for clarification and while waiting to hear back from you Slowguy made it seem like somehow many of us who shared the same confusion were just not reading enough. All I asked was for the respect for the benefit of the doubt.
I even defended you in my last post. I wasn’t arguing with you. I was showing why slowguy jumped the gun on his criticism of our confusion. The back and forth was not with you.
Regardless, thank you for the clarification and the consideration for the room’s future.
As with every time Eric has changed anything or said anything about the forum, you’re just a ball of angsty whining. Even when given good news, you complain about how it’s told to you.
I respect you, but Eric “clearly” said he didn’t intend to put any of the topics behind a paywall. You had no idea he said that, which indicates you didn’t read the whole thread.
More importantly, the constant need to argue or whine about everything Eric does is a bad look. We all get it. You felt you were treated poorly in the big Slowtwitch redesign. Get over it and move on.
As we’re generally triathlon teetotalers here in this sub forum I submit the Slowtwitch Conscientious Objector Committee.
Though I always thought of our little fight club as a Junto in the vein of Ben Franklin’s pre-Revolutionary War debate forums.
The Junto , also known as the Leather Apron Club , was a club for mutual improvement established in 1727 by Benjamin Franklin in Philadelphia. The Leather Apron Club’s purpose was to debate questions of morals, politics, and natural philosophy, and to exchange knowledge of business affairs.
The Spandex Apron Club would also be a fitting tribute.
Junto is awfully close to Junta. But maybe the Leather Apron Club is fitting. Also a little closer to the Lavender Room, for those users who are sensitive to change.
Sorry, but I’m with Yeeper on this one. “We currently are more focused on getting this room in a place to unlock it, Then putting it within the paywall” (Erics exact words) is anything but clear. Like Yeeper, I initially read this to mean “We’ll unlock this place, and afterwards put it behind the paywall”. Even if you assume that “Then” was supposed to read “than”, an expression like “currently more focused on” doesn’t read like the other option is completely off the table.
I kinda like history. Who knows why @Slowman chose “Tibbs’ Lavender Room”, and then just ‘Lavender Room’ but l like the name because we have had it for so long and it gives a tip of the hat to this site’s fun and convoluted history. And it gives a tip of the hat to infamous Mr Tibbs.
