Slowtwitch Kona brunch w/link to gallery

Finally I finished going thru all my pics from Kona and I decided to create a page with all the pictures I have from the Slowtwitch Brunch, hosted by Dan and Toni. Thanks to both for their hospitality and for the tasty and healthy food.

hey, thanks for posting this–and the link. seeing myself certainly spurred me on to look at all of them, and you got all sorts of good shots. i just got my own pictures of that day back today, so this has been one day full of kona brunch memories. nice party.

Great pics, thanks!

it was a nice party indeed, and getting to meet many ST’ers was the best part. I will finish work on the underpants run page and about 5 more pages with the rest of the Ironman events.

Great pictures! Thanks for posting.

for some reason, when i saw this i immediately reminded myself of george allen. i’m saying, “hey, macaca, or whatever your name is. welcome to the real world of the ironman.”

For the Amy White fans in the crowd…there was an Amy sighting in Kona. By the looks on our faces, I’m sure slowman was entertaining the group somehow.

I’m sorry I didn’t get everybody’s names for the captions, everybody is more than welcome to let me know who’s who.

Thanks Cathy. If any body wants high resolution copies, drop me an email.

I’m in the UCSB t-shirt.

More captions will be added tonite and about 200 more pictures from Ironweek in about 5 more pages, hopefully in a easier to see gallery.

MPL201 (Mike Llerandi) name is permanently etched in my memory. I was competing in the 2005 Harriman 1/2 IM. I just finished the '6000 ft. worth of bike riding and was tying my shoes in T2 dreading the 13.1 miles ahead of me . And then the announcer comes on…

“And now welcome the winner of the 2005 Harriman 1/2 IM - Mike Llerandi”

b@stard…he’s winning the thing and I’m staggering out for the run…

the worst part is is that he’s a helluva guy - lives in the same town as me, swims in the same town pool…d@mn him

I’m sure there are many of us who have had a similar thing happen. I recall seeing Greg Welch coming out of the Energy Lab in Kona on his way to victory while I’m riding on the Queen K trying to keep it together to make it to T2.

the gallery captions are updated, thanks to Cathy, Haim, and Peggy
