Slowtwitch Bracket Challenge IV

It’s the best sporting time of the year again and the slowtwitch bracket challenge is back. I’ve set up the group again at http://stbracket.mayhem.cbssports.com/ If you’ve played the last couple years you should already be in the group. Our group password is: slowtwitch

If you haven’t played in the past and want to in this year PM me with your email address included in the message by **Midnight Tuesday **(I’m going out of town Wed/Thurs so I may not be on the computer much). Once I get the PM I’ll send you an invitation to play. You will have to set up a free account at cbssports.com. For all players, be sure you add your ST user name in after your real name so we know who you are.

The scoring will be 1pt for round 1, 2 for round 2, 4 for round 3, 6 for round 4, 8 for seminfinals and 10 for the finals.

The ST bracket champions of the past are
2006: Mike C
2007: wvrocks
2008: jthweat

My first take looking at the bracket is that the West and East regions are both really hard to pick this year.

Just sent the 1st round of invites. If you asked and didn’t get an invitation let me know.

I am in as ST_Billabong
.

So I sent the 2nd round of invites this morning. Remember to fill out your brackets and get excited about the tournament!

I’ve got a very big east heavy final four with Louisville, Pitt, 'cuse and Memphis and Louisville winning it all. I was a little dissapointed that Michigan St. and Louisville ended up in the same region because I’m pretty high on both of those teams. I’m also very wary of my (Texas A&M) Aggies matchup with BYU in the first round and I think that the (Utah St.) Aggies are very underseeded, they’ve got to be one of the best 11 seeds ever.

I’m in

Ty Lawson- HTFU for 3 weeks, my man. Suck it up.

Well my bracket is toast I’ve lost half of my sweet 16 teams with another day of 2nd round games left.

The end of the Gonzaga/WKU game was incredible. I was pretty impressed with UConn in their beatdown of A&M.

I’m sittin’ atop the mountain!

However, my Heel’s probably have too much to overcome. Spartans at home, having lost to UNC by 30+ in December, with a great BigGame coach like Izzo…doesn’t look good for the Tar Heels.

…and I am in the cellar this was by far the worst bracket I’ve ever submitted.

The good news for you is that I don’t think anyone can catch you in our pool.

I agree that things are shaping up to look like MSU is a team of destiny. I’ve always kind of liked Tom Izzo and his teams so I suppose I’ll root for MSU tomorrow. I’m also not usually a fan of playing the final 4 in football stadiums but they way they have it set up at Ford Field it looks pretty cool.

Congratulations to Morpheus 2009 ST Bracket Champ!

I was second. Not bad after my poor showing in the third and fourth rounds.

"I would like to thank all of the little people that I have stepped on to get to this monumental day. There is so much to say and so little time. It is such an honor to be accepting the ST Bracket Challenge trophy. I’m sure there’s a trophy, right?. Now, I can only hope that after such a display of knowledge, the ST tribe will now elevate the status of Morpheus to the inner circle, to be awarded a seat next to Slowman, to have my words valued as much as FrankDay, and to be given the respect of an honorary West Coast triathlete who has missionary implications on the East Side. Let us all recognize April 6th as MORPHEUS DAY. NOW, when Morpheus speaks…ALL shall listen. I said LISTEN, YOU, YES YOU, LISTEN to the Morpheus.

Indeed the trophy will look very nice next to my Beast of the East T, but…the 2 slots to Kona will…will they be arriving certified or priority mail? Anyways, I must go now, training for this endurance race keeps me very busy these days. I have to swim, bike, and run…all back to back to back. I know, I know, sounds crazy. But, that’s the way i roll!"

 Thanks DirtyDan for the invite.
